Costain marks 160th anniversary with volunteering drive to transform careers and support communities

Costain, the infrastructure solutions company, is marking its 160th anniversary in 2025 by donating a record number of volunteering days to improve people’s lives through transforming career prospects and supporting community projects across the UK.

Around 7,000 volunteer days will be used by Costain’s people this year to help organisations including Business in the Community and The King’s Trust, as well as local community projects.

Costain’s experts, including engineers, consultants and quantity surveyors, will help those facing barriers in finding work through activities such as coaching sessions, supporting them to gain the skills needed to find good, sustainable employment and unlock their potential. Costain’s people will also support the communities where they live and work through volunteering for local projects.

Last year, Costain announced its Social Value Plan, which aims to improve the lives of one million people by 2030 through activities such as volunteering and community efforts.
