The BJS Family of companies, which runs a fleet of more than 100 HGVs in a range of combinations, has invested in Durite camera systems as well as new Durite technology designed to comply with the Progressive Safe System (PSS) regulations in London, with particular emphasis on HGVs.
The Direct Vision Standard (DVS) Progressive Safe System is an enhanced version of the current DVS legislation from Transport for London, aiming to build on the existing direct vision capabilities by providing truck drivers with indirect vision, meaning the elimination of blind spots.
Durite supplied a comprehensive system of five cameras per truck, brake light cameras, DVR recorders, and live streaming functionality. This integrates with Durite’s Progressive Safe System (PSS) which can always detect moving objects in the nearside blind spot, and directly in front of the truck cab for when the vehicle moves off.
Durite PSS is a comprehensive package that uses AI camera technology, as well as a AHD 7” monitor, left turn speaker and blind spot warning sign, enhancing fleet safety and compliance control.
