The £3 million refurbishment of Maple Ward at the Longley Centre in Sheffield has now been completed, creating a safer and more supportive environment for patients and staff.
The project included a full redesign of the ward, delivering 17 en-suite bedrooms, an accessible bedroom, calming de-escalation spaces, and a landscaped garden courtyard. Works also included new mechanical and electrical systems, supplementary drainage, and replacement windows and doors throughout the facility.
Patient safety was a key focus, with upgraded and newly created spaces including a quiet room, dining area, lounge, clinic room, dispensary, and staff rest facilities.

Delivered via the Procure Partnerships Framework, the project achieved important social value outcomes through the use of a local supply chain and on-site training initiatives, and was completed in line with the targeted autumn programme, ahead of the ward reopening.
